       Production Engineer on the Engineering Environments team. Working to provision and maintain labs for devices under tests (VR Headsets, phones, Portal video conferencing hardware). Worked extensively with FB/Meta tools on a massive scale. Refactoring of asset management systems.
     
    
  
     
     
       SRE on the growth team, working closely with developers to ensure the applications deployed to production are resilient and performant. Developed 2 significant tools used across the entire LinkedIn SRE organization, using Python, Javascript, Flask and Vue.js. Represented the growth team in a variety of cross disciplinary projects, including deployment of a new staging data center. Worked extensively with LinkedIn tools at a huge scale.

        Provided technical leadership for two outsourced projects and managed the related outsourced remote teams. This involved reviewing code and specifications, developing solutions and software for integration between the main TripAdvisor code base, and serving as a liaison between those outsourced teams and TripAdvisor technical personnel. Wrote a reverse proxy Java servlet that is now the basis for several other projects at TripAdvisor. Developed and launched the Certificate of Excellence 2016 application.         Built the original website digg.com, which quickly became the internet’s leading "social news" site. Acted as the primary technical decision-maker and lead programmer for the company, and contributed to the management of strategy, customer support, and operations.
      
   
  
     
     
        From 2001 to 2004 I was a self-employed web developer. I developed all or part of 70+ websites, most notably digg.com and thechronicleherald.ca,  for clients in the USA and Europe.
     
   
  
     
     
       As a Tcl/Tk developer, worked on manufacturing and base station applications on HP/UX at Motorola's global GSM manufacturing facility.
     
   
  
     
    
      Customized the Ars Digita Community System for use in a B2B marketplace. Worked in Tcl, JavaScript and Oracle and  developed a Tcl/Javascript menuing system. Created pages and database adapters for manual fulfillment of auctions. Mentored junior programmers and presented Ars Digita to university students.
